To follow the digital innovations Starbucks has rolled out to improve convenience for customers, the first express store in Europe opens at London’s major business hub, Canary Wharf.
Designed for people on-the-go who want Starbucks products, coupled with the efficiency that comes from knowing what they want. The express stores cater specifically for customers who choose to order and pay ahead, to use this store only as a pick-up point.
With an open layout, the new store features a walk-through experience and a streamlined menu at an early order point which allows customers to order, pay and pick-up even faster. The store offers a welcoming environment with the barista and customer at its heart. Design features include textures of complementary natural wood and marble.
For this store we kept branding very minimal, one of the goals I set myself whilst working for Starbucks EMEA. This expressed itself, by showing not the traditional logo but a big green dot, at the centre of the store and no further artwork within the store.
The green dot is build up out of five different layers of green glass, executed to perfection by IGMA.
